Earlier this week I attended The NHS Patient Safety Conference in Manchester: Breaking a Culture of Defensiveness
There were many fascinating speakers covering a wide range of topics that fed into the overall debate surrounding NHS patient safety. This tied in with the NHS patient safety strategy, published in 2019, providing a framework to enable a culture transition from one of blame to one of learning.
It was really interesting to hear from those professionals who are actively engaged in working with patients, clinicians, and nurses to improve patient safety, and I look forward to attending future events to hear about ongoing progress in this vital area.
