Easter at CAFT

Published Date: 2nd April 2021

The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT) is a local charity for terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children in the North West.

For obvious reasons, this year has been more difficult than most, but throughout the Easter holidays they are managing to offer over 300 families outdoor, COVID-safe visits.

In their own words: “CAFT helps children of all abilities aged 17 and under. Children who through no fault of their own miss out on the normalities of childhood. The needs of the children visiting the Farm are complex and range from severe physical and learning disabilities, sensory impairments and terminal illnesses through to children who act as carers for a family member, to children who have already faced bereavement and children who have witnessed and been victims of abuse. For these children, a visit to CAFT provides a much needed opportunity to have fun and laughter and to simply enjoy being children.”

MRC have supported this amazing charity for a number of years. I was delighted to pop in over the weekend to see Helen and our friends to hear about their current activities, and importantly to hand over a much needed pile of Easter eggs. All donations are very gratefully received so if anyone reading this thinks they can help in any small way, please do. I know it will be hugely appreciated not only by the fantastic staff but by all the families and children who rely on this charity for support.

Happy Easter to you all!

Sally
